It’s been eight months since the tragic deaths of Rob Reiner and his wife, Michele Singer Reiner. Though their murders marked a very dark time for the family, Jake Reiner, the couple’s eldest son, brought a bit of light. He reportedly married his fiancée, Maria Gilfillan, in early August 2026, TMZ reported. The couple apparently chose to celebrate in a small ceremony. Jake Reiner was very close to his parents, which he shared in an April Substack post.
“I was robbed of so many things that day. My parents won’t be at my wedding, they won’t get to hold their future grandchild, and they won’t get to see me have the successful career I’m still seeking. It simultaneously breaks my heart and enrages me,” Jake Reiner wrote.
Jake Reiner Misses His Parents Terribly
In his emotional essay, Jake Reiner described his unconditional love for his parents.
“It’s not lost on me that I was able to have these incredible experiences, that most people don’t get to have, because of who my parents were. But I would trade every Dodger game, every Broadway show, every vacation, if I could just spend just one more hour talking to them and to say goodbye,” he wrote.
Many shared love with Jake Reiner in the months after his parents’ death, which her greatly appreciated.
“Such a beautiful tribute. So proud of you for giving words to your grief. This will help so many others. Your parents were extraordinary and so are you,” someone commented on Instagram.
“Thank you, Jake for sharing this. I think of you and Romy often and miss your parents so much. I cherished my friendship with them and will hold their fierce, kind, loving spirits in my heart forever. Sending you and Romy so much love, xoxox,” another person wrote.
