Contrary to popular belief, Obi-Wan Kenobi was not the first Star Wars character to say, “May the force be with you.” In 1977’s Star Wars: A New Hope, General Jan Dodonna shared the words of encouragement with the Rebel pilots before the Battle of Yavin. Nearly 50 years later, Star Wars fans still say, “May the force be with you.” They have also adopted May 4 as their big day. This May 4, Burger King will launch new menu items and collectibles to celebrate the release of the new movie Star Wars: The Mandalorian and Grogu on May 22.
Burger King Has Something for Every “Star Wars” Fan
According to a release from Burger King, the new “out-of-this-galaxy” Star Wars-inspired menu items drop on May 4.
BBQ Bounty Whopper– Burger King’s signature flame-grilled burger topped with Swiss cheese, crispy pickle chips, bacon, lettuce, and tomato, topped with Bounty BBQ Sauce and served in a helmet-shaped carton.
Grogu’s Blue Cookie Shake – Soft serve ice cream blended with blue sugar cookie syrup and topped with blue cookies.
Grogu’s Garlic Chicken Fries – White meat Chicken Fries topped with garlic and parmesan and served in a Grogu-themed carton with garlic dipping sauce.
Imperial Cheddar Ranch Tots – Delicious tots filled with cheddar cheese and ranch seasoning in an Imperial-themed carton.
But that’s not all, fans can also collect four Star Wars cups with the purchase of a BBQ Bounty Whopper Combo, 12pc Grogu’s Garlic Chicken Fry Combo, or a Bounty Bundle, which is a special box including all four new menu items.
“‘Star Wars’ has shaped generations of fans, and as we head into the release of ‘Star Wars: The Mandalorian and Grogu,’ we saw an opportunity to bring that excitement straight into our restaurants,” Joel Yashinsky, Chief Marketing Officer of Burger King U.S. & Canada shared in a news release. “From themed packaging to bold, flavor-forward menu items, this is our way of celebrating an iconic new film with the iconic flame-grilled taste only Burger King can deliver.”
