Sometimes life changes in an instant when we least expect it. James Blair went to work at John Wayne Airport in Orange County, California, just like he does every day. It’s not easy for James, a military veteran who has trouble walking, but he always shows up. What he didn’t realize that day was that a woman named LaCinda took an 8-second video of James and posted it on TikTok. LaCinda wasn’t making fun of James; she wanted to help him.
“Does anyone know this man at the John Wayne Airport? Watching him work so hard, he could barely move, barely walk truly broke my heart. I know there has to be a way we can help him retire,” she wrote on her video’s caption.

LaCinda’s Video of James Blair Quickly Went Viral
We never know what will happen when we post on social media, but in LaCinda’s case, the algorithm played in her favor. Her video has 5.8 million views, but even more impressive, it connected her with James.
LaCinda created a GoFundMe to help raise money for James. She didn’t’ do it for clout, but because she wanted to help.
“I don’t know his full story yet. I don’t know why he’s still working. But I do know this: no one at that stage of life should have to. So I’m starting this fundraiser with one simple hope—to give him a chance to rest,” she wrote. “To ease whatever burden is keeping him out there. To show him that people see him, and that his hard work hasn’t gone unnoticed. If this video reached you, I believe it’s for a reason.”
LaCinda’s fundraiser has brought in more than $135,000 thus far. It’s incredible what a tiny act of kindness can do.
