Jackson Leonard, 17, and Isaac Hassell, 15, saved the life of a little girl in Arkansas during Memorial Day weekend 2026. The pair were with friends at Lake Bailey at Ohana Celebration Park in Vilonia when they heard a mother screaming. The woman’s 3-year-old daughter was pulled from the lake face down, according to KARK. Jackson and Isaac knew they had to help and jumped into action.
“Then I see her come out, and she’s blue, and she’s limp,” Isaac told the news station. “I started compressions, and then Jackson came over and had a breath mask.”
The Boys’ CPR Training Saved the Little Girl’s Life
Isaac had only learned CPR the week before, but used his training to save the toddler’s life.
“She was turning, like, pink and white and everything. And then her eyes started opening. I was like, we’re almost there. Like, we’re going to get her back up,” Jackson told KARK.
In a separate interview, Isaac admitted that he felt a bit afraid at first.
“I was scared. I was like nervous. I was like, God, just please take this girl and help her get back up, because I’m not letting a three-year-old child go out, especially when I’m here, and I know what I can do to help save her. It was just something that was really warm and warming to my heart, knowing that someone was able to live to see another day, because we, we did what was what it took to make sure she did,” he told KATV.
Thankfully, the little girl recovered and celebrated her fourth birthday the following week. The American Heart Association honored Jackson and Isaac for their bravery with Heartsaver Hero Awards. Their CPR training and calm demeanor certainly paid off. What amazing kids.
